Do You Know What Honey is Made of?
Do you know what honey is made of? Well, we all know that it comes from bees, but the process through which bees make
honey is as follows:
The nectar is removed from flowers by the Forager bees with their tongues and placed inside their extra stomach. This is where
the nectar mixes with the stomach enzymes to become thick. After extracting the nectar, the bees return to the hive and
repeat the nectar into another bee’s mouth, quite a few times during which new enzymes are added. The nectar is then
deposited into the honey comb and the excessive water from the nectar is evaporated by bees fanning their wings. The nectar
is kept in the honeycomb till appropriate humidity levels are reached after which the honeycomb is sealed with the beeswax by
bees. This is how honey is made and in short you can consider it as a bee vomit!
