This 1969 Macon MR7 was built in February 1969 by Macon Race Cars in Kent, England, and is said to have been ordered new by US importer Fred Opert in New Jersey. After suffering an engine failure during track testing, chassis 101 is said to have been fitted with a 1.6-liter Ford inline-four that was built by Ivey Engines in Portland, Oregon, in 2008 and features dry-sump lubrication and a Weber downdraft carburetor. The car was purchased by its current owner from a Washington collector approximately 14 years ago. Wearing fiberglass bodywork finished in red, the car is also equipped with a Hewland Mk 8 four-speed manual transaxle, four-wheel disc brakes, coilover independent suspension, staggered-width 13” wheels, a single seat upholstered in black, and a six-point harness. This Macon MR7 is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in Tacoma, Washington, with a bill of sale.
