Bulli Bai Creator Suspended By College For “Bringing Disrepute”: Report

Niraj Bishnoi, the alleged “mastermind” behind the creation of the ‘Bulli Bai’ app, has been suspended by the Madhya Pradesh-based engineering college where he was a B Tech student, an institute official said on Friday.

Niraj Bishnoi, a student at the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Bhopal campus, was arrested in Jorhat, Assam, on Thursday.

According to Assam police, the 21-year-old is the “main conspirator” in the case and was allegedly involved in the creation of the controversial app that placed hundreds of Muslim women for “auction.”

According to the official, the VIT administration initiated action against Niraj Bishnoi soon after his involvement in the case was exposed.

The VIT Bhopal campus is located in the Sehore district, approximately 100 kilometers from the state capital.

“Soon after we got information through the media and later through the Sehore police (about his arrest), we immediately suspended Bishnoi from the college. The management will take further action depending on what more details emerge,” he said.

Earlier, Sehore ASP Samir Yadav stated that college authorities had notified Bishnoi that he was a second-year B Tech student who had only attended online classes.

He was a bright student who had never taken physical classes on the VIT campus, according to the police officer, citing college officials.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra stated that Niraj Bishnoi is originally from Rajasthan and that cops are investigating his links to the Sehore district.

Niraj Bishnoi was brought to the national capital from Jorhat and admitted to his role in the case, according to the Delhi Police.

With the arrest of Niraj Bishnoi, the Delhi Police claimed in a statement that they have solved the case involving hundreds of Muslim women being posted for “auction” on the Github-hosted “Bulli Bai” app.

The engineering student was the fourth person arrested in connection with the case.
